The STOKE (Science, Technology, Outdoors, Knowledge, Entrepreneurship) Program is at it again!
Terry Lewis is teaching pottery classes available to all students (grades 3 to 12); thanks to a grant from a Covid Relief Fund, ESSER. He teaches classes Monday through Friday at the building next to Bulldog Laundromat (old welding shop).
Many students have found pleasure in forming bowls, cups and more in his class; and this demonstration brought pleasure to those watching, as well. Lewis says he has eight wheels and about a dozen students per class.
ESSER (Elementary Secondary School Relief Fund) not only funds the Pottery Guild but many more in the STOKE Program; including the After-School Program and more. Coming up are some fun activities/programs. An upcoming Middle School activity is the ‘Lego League Team’, an introduction to robotics. The ‘First Tech Challenge Team’ is a High School robotics activity with Roger Flynn and Spencer Saladay instructing/advising. Please. Look into these classes.
Terry Lewis said he is interested in teaching pottery to adults, as well. His phone number is 406-439-9345 if you are interested in doing an adult class; he says by all means, call him. Let's get our art on!
