As the mention of Adam Doleac’s name filled the arena, shouts of excitement rose from the stands. Adam Doleac is a new figure in country music. He had performed many songs with Darius Rucker and Kane Brown and was now going to perform his first concert in Montana, and Broadwater County had the honor of seeing his first performance in the Big Sky state of Montana. This was the main kick-off to the 60th Broadwater County Fair & Rodeo.

For those of you who may not know this new, top-charts country singer, he originally had wanted to pursue sports. This young boy from Mississippi passed up the chance to carry on the family business at an electric company to play baseball for the University of Southern Mississippi, even making an appearance in the college world series. After college, he started writing music and even started to build his career off of music. Since 2015, his song, “Whiskey’s Fine”, was recognized by the Sirius XM channel, The Highway. It reached the 3rd spot on the Hot Country Countdown. From then on, he continued to write many hit songs and performed with other country music artists.

At the concert, fans had the opportunity to get on the dance floor and give Adam Doleac a high-five and meet him personally and get an autograph and/or a picture. The main highlight of the night was when he was singing “Famous” to all of the women in the crowd. He pulled a young girl (about 3 years old) onto the stage and danced with her, singing the song to her. The crowd swelled with joy and excitement for this girl and will live in so many fans’ minds as a glimpse into the caring, personal character of the 35-year-old country artist who can personally connect with his fans.

At the conclusion of the concert, I had the opportunity to personally talk to Adam Doleac to give Broadwater County a glimpse into the life of a country music artist's concert set-up, as well as his experience in Montana.

His appreciation for “the Montananess” of our state has been his favorite. “All of the people here are super nice. I am from Mississippi and I have always been raised to care for people and love people, and it really seems like it is that way here, so it was an awesome night,” Adam Doleac stated, making the concert in Townsend, MT a great show of the small town community we share.

He had no clue what to expect from a small town in a low-population state, but his team routed a concert for him in Montana while he was on a riding vacation up in the mountains and was excited to perform with the rodeo in town.

He played many songs including his songs that hit the top charts, “Whiskey’s Fine,” and “Famous”, but he also performed songs such as “Neon Fools” and even a song that has not yet been released.

Adam Doleac was definitely a huge hit for our small community of Broadwater County.
