WATER AEROBICS IN SESSION AT MUNICIPAL POOL
An easy way to keep your joints moving and your strength and balance in good shape is to join water aerobics now in session at the pool next to Heritage Park on Front Street. Certified water safety instructor Amanda Hazlett leads the group beginning at 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. “It’s a good workout for adults of all ages, even up through their 70’s,” she said,’ because of the resistance in the water.”
The class includes strengthening exercises such as jogging in the water, cross-country skier tuck jumps and jumping jacks. Hazlett adds conditioning exercises including feet lifts, flutter kicks and butterfly kicks. “We end with a cooldown of a few laps around the pool. It’s all about feeling good,” she said.
The evening class will run until the end of August. The charge is $4.00 per session with several options for paying: cash or check or pay when you pay your city water bill. Punch cards are available for $40.00 for ten sessions.
For more information, please call the pool during open hours 8:15 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. at (406) 266-5144.
