Family of Clara Zabrocki

On July 5, 2023, Clara Zabrocki of Townsend went to be with her Lord Jesus and to reunite with her beloved husband Harry. Clara Lisa Burling was born on March 7, 1925, in Wheeler, Wisconsin. She married Harry Zabrocki in Seattle, Washington. Clara and Harry had one son, David.

In retirement, Clara served as a Senior Companion. As a member of Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, she shared her one-of-a-kind smile and her faith in her Lord with each member. She completed her life with her friends and her loving and compassionate caregivers at Silver Springs Assisted Living in Townsend. With her dear friends Sheila Heavirland and Jim Beck, she enjoyed sharing her life story and her trust in the saving grace of her Lord Jesus.

Clara was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence Burling and Lila (Downs) Burling; husband, Harry; two sisters, Claris Grace (Clara’s twin) and Marian Gentry; and four brothers, Juel, Duane, Charles, and Ron Burling.

She is survived by her son David Zabrocki (Mary) of Wenatchee, Washington; and sisters-in-law, Lorraine Freeman and Arlene Burling. She has two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by cousins, Jim and Mary Nesbit, and John Granger who have provided support during Clara’s time in Townsend.

Clara has been interred with her husband Harry at the Ft. Harrison Veterans Cemetery. A celebration of Clara’s life will be held at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 301 N Cherry St, Townsend, Montana, at 2:00 pm on Sunday, July 30. Those who wish to make a memorial donation in Clara’s memory may make it to the charity of their choice.
