Farmer’s Markets:

This year's Farmer’s Markets are up and running with vendors every Thursday from 3 pm - 6 pm

starting on May 25th through September 28th. To participate, vendors must Grow It, Make It, or Bake It

locally in Broadwater County. However, no garage sale, resale, multi-level marketing products, live

animals, or flea market-type items are accepted.

Broadwater FFA has taken part in this event selling items such as flowers and soap. It’s a good

opportunity to sell FFA student-made/grown items to the community. However, with the summer still

ongoing, we’re far from done being involved with the farmers market. Broadwater FFA will continue to

sell our items in preparation for the upcoming year, which promises to be fun, eventful, and progressive

toward our goals as a chapter and an official team.

SAE Highlights:

So far this summer, only a few students have scheduled and completed their Supervised

Agricultural Experience (SAE) visits, including Kaitlyn Noyes, Amanda Pesiscka, and Grace Kroeger.

- Kaitlyn has a breeding beef and show steer operation.

- Amanda does ranching and farming for her grandpa, owns her own cattle operation, and does rodeo.

- Grace has a breeding/dairy goat operation as well as chickens, pigs, and sheep.

All of them are well on their way in their projects, plus Kaitlyn and Grace are preparing for the

upcoming Broadwater County Fair in the first week of August. While these are only a few SAEs

reviewed by Mrs. Loughery, our Ag Instructor, others will be scheduled throughout the rest of the

summer.

All SAE visits consist of individually showing our operations and talking over a yearly review of

our projects. We then grade ourselves on our performance, and then that is compared to our instructor's

performance score that she gives us. Additionally, we talk with her about goals and areas of improvement in

the upcoming year.
