Broadwater runners participate in Governor's Cup

Several Broadwater County residents made the trek to Helena to compete in the 2023 Montana Governor's Cup last weekend on June 10.
Placing the highest amongst Broadwater County's runners was 16-year old Kaelyn Sangray. Sangray finished the 10K in 49:08.77 and placed 10th among the women.
Becky Lang and Julia Masolo also ran the 10K and placed 46th and 99th among the women, respectively.
On the men's side, 59-year old Shaun Scott finished the race in 1:08:00.16, placing 86th among the men.
Scott's sons, Iain and Aidan, also participated in the Governor's Cup, choosing to run the 5K instead. Iain Scott, 22, finished the 5K in 22:53.04, placing 18th among the men. Aidan Scott, 21, was next from Broadwater to cross the finish line in 37:26.92.
Fellow Townsend resident 17-year old Riley Rauser joined the Scott son's in the 5K, finishing the race in 39:21.99.
In the women's 5K, Chantelle Lapsley, a 32-year old from Townsend, was first across the line. Lapsley finished in 30:49.95 and placed 42nd among the women.
Anzhela Stoliar, Tricia White and Chelsea Rauser of Townsend also ran the 5K, finishing in 30:49.95, 37:28.58, 38:29.98 and 39:22.19, respectively.
Running the furthest from Broadwater County was Michael Aguirre, a 38-year old from Townsend. Aguirre, competing in the 26-mile long marathon, finished 26th among the men in 4:17:01.41.
The Montana Governor's Cup will return next year, and Broadwater County residents are likely to put up another great showing.
