* I want to thank the Teachers for Teachers Education Association for organizing and hosting the school board candidate forum on April 13th.
* The 4-day School Week Survey closes on April 20th; there will be a board meeting on April 24th at 6:30 pm in The Elementary Commons to discuss the data, listen to input, and decide whether Townsend School District will start the 4-day week. The data will be provided to the district by MTSBA and will not include identifiers such as names and addresses.
* Regular Board Meetings are on the second Tuesday of every month in the Community Room at 6:00 pm. The meeting agendas are posted in accordance with Montana open meeting laws, guidance, and timelines. Regular Meeting Agendas are posted by the Thursday before the Tuesday of the meetings. They are posted throughout the school, on the website, in the community library, at the post office, and at the county building. Special Board Meetings are often to handle things that come up with shorter notice; however, they are still posted according to law.

MTSBA will provide survey results, the board will Listen to stakeholder input, and the board will make decisions on the 4-Day Week and potential Calendars.

• School Safety
We have information on our safety grant and ongoing safety committees work including the newly revised and adopted emergency crisis plan. This year we held multiple safety meetings and training to increase student safety through staff training and emergency planning in coordination with our sheriff’s office and other agencies. We would appreciate more community and parent representation during these meetings!
