FFA Update: Annual Banquet Mikayla Kraft, School Correspondent April 17th is the FFA annual, end-of-year banquet over in the Elementary Commons at 6:30 p.m. to say goodbye to the old officers, get a recap of this FFA year and install our new officers. In addition, our Director of Operations, Kelsey Proue, will be our guest speaker.

There is a free dinner, and I encourage anyone interested to come! It is a great opportunity to personally connect with the Broadwater FFA chapter and the community. Broadwater County is an amazing support to the Broadwater FFA chapter and we greatly appreciate the support.

The last of the retiring officer addresses are here and it is sure to be a treat. Amanda Pesicka is the first up for these addresses. Amanda is 16 and a sophomore in high school. She served as the Broadwater FFA secretary. She is also running for vice president and president for the 2023-2024 FFA year. She strongly believes that she has learned more life skills than she ever imagined. Her favorite competition was Vet Science because she learned so much that she could apply to the ranch her family owns.

Second, Kayla Kraft, myself, the reporter. I am 16 and a junior in high school. I am currently running for the president's office and fully believe I can make a change in our chapter and community. My favorite competition this year was agricultural sales. I crossed my milestone and learned more about selling and agribusiness than I ever thought I would.

Next is our vice president, Justene Santi. She is 18, a senior in high school and enlisted into the Marine Corps. If she had the chance to run for office again, she would run for president. She loved the ability to work with her officer team and is excited to apply the skills she has learned in this officer position to life in the Marines. Justene did not compete in any competitions this year, but she had the opportunity to be a delegate and she loved the ability to be directly involved in making changes to Montana FFA.

Lastly is our 2022-2023 Broadwater FFA president, Jacob Pesicka. He is a junior in high school and is 17 years old. Jacob was proud to lead the chapter as president and believes he has grown our chapter in many positive ways. His favorite competition was livestock evaluation because he had the chance to grow his knowledge of cattle and other livestock animals. He can use his judging skills to better understand his SAE and his family’s ranch.

Each one of these officers, including Lane Santi, Codie Skillman, and Ross MacDonald, believe that the community and everyone in Broadwater FFA has been a great support. This year has been a blast and even though we are sad to retire from our offices, we have complete faith that more doors will be opened for the Broadwater FFA chapter.

Thank you, Broadwater County, for all of your support. We urge you to attend the banquet!
