Crow Creek Road Reopens; Improvement of Weston and Weasel Creek Roads to Necessitate Temporary Closures

Chiara Cipriano

USDA Public Affairs Officer

Crow Creek road (#424) has reopened, and work is now underway to improve both Weasel Creek (#405) and Weston Creek (#4031) roads as part of the Joint Chiefs’ Elkhorn Road and Culvert Project. With the presence and activity of heavy machinery at both sites, projects will necessitate temporary closures.

Weasel Creek road closure starts at the Crow Creek Junction up to the Eagle Guard Station turnoff. The road work continues past the Guard Station and ends at the Eagle Guard Trailhead. Weston Creek road closure will begin at the junction of Weasel Creek Road and Weston Creek Road. The work will continue 4 miles towards Indian Creek Road, and end at the Forest Service boundary. Eagle Guard Station is closed during this time. Indian Creek Road continues to be open from the highway to the forest boundary during the road work.

Visit: https://www.fs.usda.gov/r01/helena-lewisclark/alerts to view all closures across the Forest. Call the Townsend Ranger District at (406) 266-3425 for questions related to the Weston and Weasel Creek road closures.
