The boy was crowned with a simple golden band belonging to his mother because the royal crown had been lost.

* On Oct. 22, 2018, actress Selma Blair revealed that she'd been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. * On Oct. 24, 1901, her 63rd birthday, widowed American schoolteacher Annie Edson Taylor became the first person to survive a plunge over Niagara Falls in a barrel, accompanied by her lucky heart-shaped pillow. Sadly, while she wrote a memoir and briefly earned money talking about her experience, she ended up dying penniless and in poor health at age 82.
* On Oct. 25, 1920, Greece's King Alexander died at age 27 from wounds he received after a Barbary macaque attacked and bit him several times a few weeks earlier, as he walked on the grounds outside the castle with his dog. The monkey had first gone after the dog, and the king had stepped in to separate the animals.
