HOLLYWOOD -- Scarlett Johansson, 41, is one of the most successful actresses of our time. She is obviously a super heroine and makes a good deal of her estimated $3.3-billion fortune from starring in super-hero movies such as "Iron Man 2," "The Avengers" franchise, the "Captain America" franchise, "Thor," "Captain Marvel," and "Jurassic World Rebirth."
Now Johansson's joining "The Exorcist" franchise for "The Exorcist: Martyrs," co-starring Chiwetel Ejiofor, Carla Gugino, John Legiuzamo, Diane Lane and Lawrence Fishburne. It's set to open in March 2027. The film's director Mike Flanagan has an obsession with scary films, having directed Stephen King's "Doctor Sleep" (2019). His psychological horror "Oculus" (2013) cost $5 million and earned $44.4 million in box-office grosses, and his supernatural horror "Ouija: Origin of Evil" (2016) cost $12 million cost and grossed $85 million. He also directed "The Life of Chuck" (2024), a fantasy drama, which earned $21.4 million.
Additionally, Flanagan's $40-million body-horror film "Clayface," with Tom Rhys Harries, opens on Oct. 23. Meanwhile, Johansson's upcoming in another super-hero franchise for "The Batman: Part II," with Robert Pattinson, Jeffrey Wright, Colin Farrell and Charles Dance. It's set for a February 2028 release. She's becoming more famous than that other Scarlett ... O'Hara!

Timothee Chalamet is so under Kylie Jenner's spell that he's laid off making any films. His last on-camera shoot was "Dune: Part Three," which was completed in November 2025. While he makes cow eyes at Jenner, Austin Butler's cranking out "Enemies" with Jeremy Allen White. Glen Powell's completed the comedy "The Comeback King" for a February 2027 release, as well as "The Great Beyond" for an October 2027 release.
Jake Gyllenhaal finished the supernatural thriller "Remain" for a February 2027 release, "Road House 2" with Dave Bautista, and the comedy "Honeymoon with Harry" with Kevin Costner, Rita Ora and Shaggy.

Henry Cavill's completed "Voltron" with Sterling K. Brown and Rita Ora, which is set to release next year. He's also completed the "Highlander" reboot with Russell Crowe, Dave Bautista, Djimon Hounsou and Jeremy Irons. (No release date yet.)

Chris Hemsworth's full speed ahead with five upcoming films. The first is "Avengers: Doomsday" on Dec. 18. Then there's "Stuntnuts: The Movie" with Sam Rockwell and John Cena. Next up are "Subversion" with Lily James and Michael Pena; the crime thriller "Kockroach" with Taron Egerton; and finally "Extraction 3" with Idris Elba and Pierce Brosnan for Netflix.
Oh, yes, Chris Evans will be back as Captain America in "Doomsday." Not to be left out is Chris Pratt (who was shown no "Mercy" in his latest film that only grossed $54.7 million of its $60-million cost). He has completed Apple TV's "Way of the Warrior Kid," which drops on Nov. 20. He's also set to voice Garfield again in the sequel to 2024's "The Garfield Movie," which grossed $257.2 million.

Nicole Kidman's completed her 77th film -- the horror epic "The Young People" with Johnny Knoxville and Heather Graham. Unfortunately, her 76th film "Practical Magic 2," co-starring Sandra Bullock, Diane Wiest, Stockard Channing and Lee Pace, didn't fare too well, only recouping $93.7 million of its $75 million budget so far. But this won't slow Kidman down -- she's an expert at Cruise control, and before we know it, she'll hit her 80th film!
