Answers
1. Hand jive was a dance that was mostly a complicated pattern of hand clapping movements. It started in London in a bar where there was no space to actually dance. Hand clapping was all they had room to do.
2. The four brothers (Ed, Joe, Gene and Vic) originally called themselves the Amory Brothers until they changed it to the Ames Brothers. Their first chart-topper was "Rag Mop."
3. The Seekers, in 1966. It was used as the title song for the film of the same name and received an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song.
4. "The Twelfth of Never."
5. "Everything Is Beautiful," by Ray Stevens, in 1970. Penned by Stevens himself, the song took the Grammy award for Best Contemporary Male Vocal Performance.
